AMOS stands for Add me on Snapchat, a social media abbreviation.
Request to connect on Snapchat, posted in bios, comments and dating profiles, as in "amos: jake_22." It moves a conversation from a public platform to Snapchat's private, disappearing messages.
Example: Amos, my username's the same as on here, send a snap.
Usage notes
Popular in the mid-2010s when Snapchat was the main messaging app for teens. Online safety guides note that strangers may use such requests to move conversations with young users onto an app where messages vanish, so parents are advised to watch for it.
