WTG stands for Way to go, a texting and chat abbreviation.

Congratulates someone on an achievement, or, sarcastically, mocks a mistake. Used in texts, comments and gaming chat, where both senses are common.

Example: Wtg on your promotion, so proud of you!

Usage notes

Sarcastic use ("wtg, you broke it") is common among friends and teammates, so tone matters. The sincere version is fine in casual work chat. Gamers sometimes use it after a teammate's mistake, which can sound toxic.
