WTF stands for What the f***, a texting and chat abbreviation.

Usage notes

Comedian Marc Maron's podcast "WTF with Marc Maron," launched in 2009, used the abbreviation as its title and even hosted President Barack Obama in 2015. Some use "wtf" as a euphemism, saying the letters instead of the swear. Never appropriate in professional writing.
