WELL AP stands for WELL Accredited Professional, a professional certification abbreviation.
Credential from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) for professionals who apply the WELL Building Standard, which rates buildings on features affecting occupant health such as air, water, light, movement and mental health.
Example: The workplace consultant is a WELL AP who helped the office earn WELL certification.
Usage notes
The WELL Building Standard launched in 2014 and is administered with GBCI, the same organization that certifies LEED projects. Credential maintenance requires continuing education every two years. Many sustainability consultants hold both LEED AP and WELL AP.
