2. Republic of China
Geography & Places · Country Name Abbreviations
The Republic of China was founded in 1912 after the fall of the Qing dynasty, which since 1949 has governed only Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu. ROC appears on Taiwanese passports, government documents and in the Minguo calendar, which counts years from 1912.
Example: The ROC passport now prints TAIWAN in larger type than the official name.
Most countries recognize the PRC rather than the ROC, so Taiwan competes as Chinese Taipei (TPE) at the Olympics. ROC year 113 corresponds to 2024. In Olympic contexts ROC also meant the Russian Olympic Committee team at the 2020 and 2022 Games.
3. Resumption of care

The resumption OASIS must be completed within two calendar days of discharge from the inpatient facility. Medication changes during the hospital stay make reconciliation the main focus of the visit. Outside healthcare ROC is the Republic of China (Taiwan).
4. Russian Olympic Committee
Geography & Places · Country Code Abbreviations
Designation under which Russian athletes competed at the Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 Olympics, because doping sanctions barred Russia's name, flag and anthem. Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 replaced the anthem at medal ceremonies.
Example: ROC topped the figure skating standings in Beijing.
At Paris 2024, a small number of Russian and Belarusian athletes competed as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN). ROC more usually means Republic of China, the official name of Taiwan.
