ICAO code KMCO. The code comes from McCoy Air Force Base, a Strategic Air Command base named for Col. Michael N. W. McCoy, who died in a 1957 B-47 crash nearby; the civilian airport grew on the base site and kept the code after the base closed in the 1970s. Terminal C, opened in 2022, added international-style facilities for the growing overseas market.
