Ltda stands for Limitada (limited company), a company type abbreviation.
Suffix for private limited liability companies in Brazil, Colombia, Chile and other Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries, from sociedade limitada or sociedad de responsabilidad limitada. Partners' liability is limited to their capital contributions.
Example: The São Paulo distributor is registered as a Ltda with two partners.
Usage notes
In Brazil, the sociedade limitada is the most common business form, and since 2019 a single partner can form one. Written Ltda or Ltda.; Portugal's equivalent is usually written Lda. In Colombia, many Ltda companies have converted to the simplified S.A.S.
