LLE stands for Left lower extremity, a patient assessment abbreviation.

The left leg from hip to toes, recorded to locate wounds, edema, fractures, pulses or neurovascular findings, and in weight-bearing and positioning orders.

Example: LLE cool and mottled below knee, absent DP pulse; vascular surgery paged.

Usage notes

Sudden coldness, pallor and loss of pulses in one leg suggest acute limb ischemia, a time-critical emergency. Pulses commonly checked in the leg are femoral, popliteal, dorsalis pedis and posterior tibial. Wound and edema notes should give exact location within the limb.
