EW stands for Electronic warfare, a military term abbreviation.
Military use of the electromagnetic spectrum to attack, protect and gather information, including jamming enemy radios and radars, protecting friendly systems and detecting emissions. It is increasingly central to drone warfare.

Usage notes
EW has three divisions: electronic attack, electronic protection and electronic support. The war in Ukraine showed how heavily drones and precision munitions depend on contested electromagnetic spectrum. Army EW specialists hold the MOS 17E.
