CRSC stands for Combat-Related Special Compensation, a veteran abbreviation.
Tax-free monthly payment for military retirees with disabilities incurred in combat, hazardous duty, training that simulates war, or caused by an instrumentality of war, restoring retired pay otherwise offset by VA compensation.
Example: Because his injuries came from an IED, he qualified for CRSC.
Usage notes
Retirees cannot receive both CRSC and Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay at the same time, but can choose the more beneficial one during an annual open season. Each service processes CRSC applications.
