BSB stands for Bank-State-Branch, a banking abbreviation.
Six-digit number that identifies a bank branch in Australia, used together with an account number for domestic transfers, direct debits and direct credits. The leading digits identify the financial institution and state, and the rest the branch.
Example: Enter the six-digit BSB and the account number exactly as shown on your bank statement.
Usage notes
BSB numbers are written in the format 000-000 and are administered by the Australian Payments Network. International transfers to Australia usually also need the bank's SWIFT code. Many Australians now use PayID, which links a phone number or email address to an account in place of a BSB and account number.
