4EVER stands for Forever, a texting and chat abbreviation.
Number spelling that replaces "for" with the digit 4, used in affectionate messages, yearbook signatures and social media captions. It often pairs with friendship and romantic phrases such as "besties 4ever" or "love u 4ever."
Example: Happy birthday to my day one, besties 4ever no matter what.
Usage notes
Some writers stretch it to 4eva or 4evr for extra informality. The same 4-for-"for" swap produced B4 (before), 4U and F4F (follow for follow). It was especially popular on 2000s MySpace profiles and in yearbooks. Fine with friends and family, not in formal writing.
