WOC stands for Warrant Officer Candidate, a US Army rank abbreviation.

Status of soldiers attending the Army's Warrant Officer Candidate School, the course that turns NCOs and selected civilians into WO1s. Candidates are evaluated on leadership, physical fitness and academics under a demanding, TAC-officer-supervised regimen before appointment.

Example: WOC Rivera finished Warrant Officer Candidate School and heads straight to flight training next month.

Usage notes

Many aviation candidates enter directly from civilian life through the Army's warrant officer flight training option, nicknamed "high school to flight school." Technical warrant officers, by contrast, are drawn from experienced NCOs in a related specialty. Candidates are addressed as "Candidate" during the course.
