qPM stands for Every evening, a prescription abbreviation.
Instruction to give a once-daily dose in the evening, used for drugs like some statins, anticoagulants dosed at supper or medicines that cause drowsiness. The exact time is set by facility policy.
Example: Warfarin 5 mg PO qPM; INR on Friday.
Usage notes
Also written q.p.m., QPM or qpm. Not formally banned, but ISMP warns about a related form, "q6PM" (every evening at 6 PM), which has been misread as "every 6 hours". Writing "daily at 6 PM" or "every evening" avoids the problem.
