BoW stands for Bag of words, an artificial intelligence abbreviation.
A simple text representation that counts how often each word appears in a document while ignoring grammar and word order. It was a standard input for spam filters and document classifiers before word embeddings.
Example: A BoW model can't tell "dog bites man" from "man bites dog".
Usage notes
Often combined with TF-IDF weighting or n-grams to capture short phrases. Computer vision borrowed the idea as "bag of visual words". It remains a useful baseline for text classification because it is fast and easy to interpret.
