bd ft stands for Board foot, a US customary and imperial unit abbreviation.
Lumber volume equal to a board 12 inches long, 12 inches wide and 1 inch thick, or 144 cubic inches. Hardwood lumber and logs in the US and Canada are priced per board foot.
Example: Rough-sawn walnut, 8/4 thickness, $14.50 per bd ft.
Usage notes
Also written BF or FBM (foot board measure). The timber industry uses MBF, thousand board feet, for sawlog volumes. Hardwood thickness is often stated in quarters of an inch, so 4/4 is one inch rough and 8/4 is two inches. Softwood framing lumber is usually sold by the piece instead.
