Sign-off meaning the writer is leaving the conversation but expects to talk again soon. It belongs mostly to the early-2000s instant messenger era, when buddy lists and away messages were part of daily teen life, and it is rare today.

Example: Gotta run to class, b4n, I'll text u at lunch.

Usage notes

A shorter variant of BFN that uses the digit 4 for "for," following the same keypad logic as B4 (before). Younger users more commonly sign off with "bye," "ttyl" or "gtg," or simply stop replying.
