Atty. stands for Attorney, a legal profession abbreviation also used in general use.
Common abbreviation for "attorney" in signature blocks, case files, letterhead and forms, as in "Atty. for Plaintiff". In the United States an attorney, or attorney-at-law, is a lawyer licensed to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
Example: The form asks for the name and bar number of the Atty. of record.
Usage notes
The Bluebook form is "Att'y" (plural "Att'ys"), as in "Att'y Gen." Strictly, "attorney" means anyone authorized to act for another, which is why an agent under a power of attorney is an attorney-in-fact while a lawyer is an attorney-at-law. In Britain and much of the Commonwealth the profession is instead divided into solicitors and barristers.
