ARNP stands for Advanced registered nurse practitioner, a healthcare credential abbreviation.
State-specific title for advanced practice nurses, including nurse practitioners, used in Washington and formerly in Florida and some other states. It is equivalent to APRN elsewhere.
Example: Washington ARNP, prescribes Schedule II-V, accepting new pediatric patients.
Usage notes
Florida replaced ARNP with APRN in October 2018, and a 2024 Washington law changes that state's title to APRN effective June 30, 2027, aligning both with the national consensus model. Because state titles differ, credentials listed in directories may change when clinicians move. The underlying national certifications, such as FNP-BC, stay the same.
